BBTSA understands that your privacy is important to you and that you care about how your personal data is used and shared online. We respect and value the privacy of everyone who visits our website, www.bbtsa.org and will only collect and use personal data in ways that are described here, and in a manner that is consistent with our obligations and your rights under the law.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully and ensure that you understand it. Your acceptance of our Privacy Policy will be required to read and accept when joining BBTSA on-line. If you do not accept and agree with this Privacy Policy, you should not continue with your application for membership of BBTSA.
BBTSA naturally needs to store some information about its members. Athletes’ names and dates of birth are used to ensure everyone competes in the right classes for their age and ability level. Photos are used for membership badges. In certain circumstances, a medical condition might be noted against a member’s record.
BBTSA competition results are also published on our website, showing athletes’ names and placings.
We do not however, hold any information about our members, such as address details, that is not necessary.
Limited information is required for Professional Members, so we keep a record of their email addresses.
BBTSA keeps members’ records after they leave, as they often re-join the association at a later date. However, these details will now only be kept in the system for 3 years, after which our hosted computer system will be programmed to delete their records.
At times, it is necessary to keep additional information for other purposes; passport details for travelling to competitions abroad and DBS data for those members who have their checks processed through BBTSA. These details will be kept either on a stand-alone BBTSA laptop or password-protected usb stick.
We want you to know that we take privacy seriously at BBTSA, so we promise to always manage your data securely and responsibly.
BBTSA has an appointed Data Protection Officer to oversee our compliance with data protection laws. For initial Data Protection enquiries, please contact: michelle@bbtsa.co.uk
